AC Milan So Far

AC Milan began the preseason without much changes except for that of the head coach. Cagliari coach, Massimiliano Allegri was appointed to take up the place vacated by Leonardo. Adriano Galliani, wasn’t promising much in terms of new signings but with Ibrahimovic and Robinho not wanted at their respective clubs, Milan snapped up the two and all of a sudden Milan became one of the more feared squads in Europe and Italy.
The season began with a 4-0 mauling of Leece as Milan played some beautiful attacking football. But, the team was soon brought down to earth as they failed to win their next three league games. Although, performances of new signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic have been promising. Earlier, Allegri played with a 3 man midfield consisting of the veterans Ambrosini, Seedorf and Pirlo but starting with Ghanian Kevin Prince Boateng has added some much needed pace to the Milan midfield. The ex-Portsmouth player has been a great signing for Milan as too much reliance on the veterans has stretched the team against quicker opponents.
Milan have since, won six out of their last seven league rendering them top of the table. Their Champions League performances have been hot and cold. But, now comes the most important game of the season so far. A litmus test of sorts. Last season, Milan were simply outplayed by a fitter, stronger and tactically better InterMilan in both the derbies. This season, Inter have been on the decline and would be looking forward to this game to turn their season around. This game will give us lot of insights into how well Milan have fared this season.
